Alex Owen (2nd Left) and E Arthur Shaw (1st Right) take delivery of a Morris Minor van, part of a new fleet of repair vehicles. The
man on the left is believed to be a Mr Walker who is remembered as an employee at the Station Road HQ and who may then have been
in charge of the vehicle fleet.
Then or later, the Service Manager, based at Lilac Grove, was Cyril Quartermain. Cyril was
known, both for the high service standards and for his insistence on a road test, carried out by him, for all new Alex Owen drivers
