Barlow train shed

The magnicent train shed, now to be the new home of Euro Star, at St Pancras Station
was originally designed by the Victorian engineer, William Henry Barlow.
When it opened in 1865 it was the largest roof span in the world. This structure, as well as the adjoining station and hotel buildings, both Sir George Gilbert Scott masterpieces, are Grade 1 listed but had been in need of renovation for many years.
Championed by English Heritage, this huge project is well advanced and scheduled for completion in late 2007.
