• Occupation: waiter, at the time of the census in April 1891. ⁴³³ He and his wife and two children were then living at 1 Moorhouse Street, Layton with Warbrick, Blackpool, Lancashire.

• Occupation: Chiropodist, by the time of the census in March 1901, Matlock, Derbys. ⁴³⁴ He was then living and working on his own account at Bank Road, Matlock, Derbyshire with his wife and their two children. His wife's brother William was visiting at that time.

Thomas married Caroline Elizabeth Hudston, daughter of William Hudston and Jane Dowman, Q4/1888 in Liverpool.⁴³¹ (Caroline Elizabeth Hudston was born on 18 Jul 1854 in Ockbrook, Derbys ^{317,435,436,437,438} and died in 1922 ⁴³⁹.)
