Kenneth Ian Gourlay

  Noted events in his life were:

• Education: Merciston Castle, Edinburgh and Royal Militay Academy, Woolwich. ² He was a Batchelor of Science

• Military Service: as a Brigadeer in the Royal Engineers, from 1911 and in World War 1 from 1914 to 1919. ^{2 3} He was Mentioned in Dispatches and received the Miltary Cross and the DSO in 1919. He was promoted to Lt Colonel in 1935 and Colonel in 1939. He served in the 2nd World War, received the OBE in 1945 retiring in 1946. He then served in the Office of the Land Commander, Dusseldorf from 1946 to 1950

• Residence: 73 Montpellier Terrace, Cheltenham, by 1961. ⁴

Kenneth married Victoria May Oldrini, daughter of Basil Henry Montague Oldrini and Emily Catherine Potter, Q1 1917 in Newark Registration District. (Victoria May Oldrini was born circa 1897 ^{5 6} and was baptised on 13 Jun 1897 in Beeston Parish Church, Notts ⁷.)
