• Occupation: cotton spinner & doubler employing 190 hands, at the time of the census in April 1871. ³⁴³ Ge was then living at Wilne Mills, Wilne, Derbys with his sister as his housekeeper and one servant.

• Occupation: cotton doubler employing 160 hands, at the time of the census in April 1881. ³⁴⁴ He was then living with his parents and two sisters at Wilne Mills, Wilne, Derbyshire.
