Ted Avery has identified his grandfather, Frederick Arthur Avery (1887-1951), 4th from the right in the nearest standing row. Frederick worked in the General Office. Scroll up to see him in the photograph of the General Office (near the centre of the photograph, next to a vertical column)

Further Staff

Philip Ward has identified his father, Samuel Henry Dewick Ward, then aged 20, on the lower picture, in the centre row, 5th from the left and his mother, then Grace Millicent Stanley, then aged 17, front row, 6th from the left. They married in 1930. Samuel was known as 'Sammy' at work but used the old family name 'Dewick' at home. He became Chief Engineer at the Ericsson factory at Beeston and was awarded the MBE at the end of WW2 for services to the war effort.
