Occupation: grocer's shopman, at the time of the census in April 1881. 14 He was then living in the household of his uncle and aunt Charles & Amelia Crane. As Charles was a grocer to whom he had been apprenticed, it would appear that William was working for him. His widowed mother, his sister and several cousins were also present.
