A dairy maid and a domestic servant are also living in the household. 20 labourers, 5 boys and 5 women are employed on the farm.
• Occupation: farmer of 766 acres, at the time of the census in April 1871. 315 He was then living and farming at Higney, Ramsey, Huntingdonshire with his wife, six children and his half-sister. A farm foreman, domestic groom, dairy maid and a nursemaid are also living in the household. 24 labourers, 6 boys and 5 women are employed on the farm.
William married Mary Laxton, daughter of Thomas Laxton and Ann Goodyer. (Mary Laxton was born circa 1827 in Tinwell, Rutland 316,317,318,319, baptised on 6 May 1827 in Tinwell, Rutland 320 and died Q2 1888 in Fulham Registration District 321.)
