  • Died: 6 Jan 1867, Upper Holloway, London aged 70 2
  • Buried: E Rudham Parish Church (St Mary) Norfolk 3

bullet  General Notes:

Elizabeth's parents are believed to be John & Mary Thompson

bullet  Noted events in her life were:

• Residence: Lower Anchorage Abbey Farm, East Rudham, Norfolk, at the time of the census in March 1851. 4 Living with her were her two unmarried daughters, Lydia aged 25 years and Eliza aged 24 years, Lydia born at St. Luke's, London and Eliza at East Rudham. Elizabeth's grandaughter, Alice Upjohn aged 6 years, born East Rudham was also in the household as were two house servants. Elizabeth's husband, John, a farmer was absent at the time of the census.

• Probate: at the Principle Probate Registry, 16 Feb 1867. 5 Robert Richard Robinson of 142 Westbourne Terrace, Bayswater in the county of Middlesex. esquire, was the sole Executor; her effects were under £300 pounds. In her will, she bequeathed all of her personal and real estate to her friends Robert R. Robinson and her son-in-law Richard Royston except for £100 to each of her married daughters, Mary Royston and Mary Oldrini, and the residue of her property, after all costs had been deducted to her two spinster daughters Eliza and Caroline Matilda Drage. The will was dated 13 April, 1865 and the witnesses who signed were Elizabeth's son Edmund and her nephew, Francis William Upjohn, son of her sister Anne Upjohn.
On 5 January 1867, one day before her death, Elizabeth changed her will by adding a codicil which stated that her two spinster daughters, Eliza and Caroline would jointly inherit all of her real and personal estate whatsoever and the sole executor was now Robert R. Robinson. It may have been brought to Elizabeth's attention by her solicitor friend and executor just before her death that as her estate was then under £300, it would be more sensible to bequeath the sum equally between her two daughters who were unmarried and perhaps had no other form of income.

Elizabeth married John Drage on 12 Oct 1818 in London (St Georges, Hanover Square).3 (John Drage was born in 1790, baptised in 1790 in Binham, Norfolk, died on 27 Oct 1856 in East Rudham, Norfolk and was buried in E Rudham Parish Church (St Mary) Norfolk.)
