• Residence: Sloane Street, Chelsea, at the time of the census in June 1841. 7 He was then of independant means, living there with his wife and four children with the help of two domestic servants. Robert Moody, a sculptor, was staying in the household.

• Occupation: Receiver of Fees, House of Lords, at the time of the census in March 1851. 8 He was then living at 3 York Buildings, Hastings, Sussex with his wife, daughter and married son and daughter-in-law. Henrietta Bridges and her maid were visiting.

• Occupation: Receiver of Fees - House of Lords, at the time of the census in April 1861. 9 He was then living with his wife and a daughter with two servants at Hollington, Sussex.

• Residence. at Kings' Rd, Chelsea and later at 16 Denbigh Place, Pimlico

• Probate, 26 Oct 1869, Principal Probate Registry. 10 It was valued at "less than £8000"


Gerard married Elizabeth Stofer, daughter of Robert Stofer and Mary Clarke, on 28 Sep 1824 in Westminster (St Margarets).1 (Elizabeth Stofer was born on 29 Apr 1797 in London, St Giles Registation District 11 12 13 14, baptised on 28 May 1797 in Marylebone, London,13 died on 28 Jul 1870 in Hollington, Sussex 15 16 17 and was buried in Beeston Parish Churchyard, Notts.)
