Residence: Sloane Street, Chelsea, at the time of the census in June 1841. 7 He was then of independant means, living there with his wife and four children with the help of two domestic servants. Robert Moody, a sculptor, was staying in the household.

Occupation: Receiver of Fees, House of Lords, at the time of the census in March 1851. 8 He was then living at 3 York Buildings, Hastings, Sussex with his wife, daughter and married son and daughter-in-law. Henrietta Bridges and her maid were visiting.
