William married Caroline Thornhill, daughter of Thomas Thornhill and Mary Ann Cross, in 1875 in St Marys, Marylebone, London. (Caroline Thornhill was born circa 1843 in Beeston, Notts ¹⁷² and was baptised on 6 Dec 1857 in Beeston Parish Church.)
